Learning School Expectations
In addition to getting to know names and schedules, learning
and reviewing our School Expectations was one of the main focuses for
the first two weeks of school. Our learning this week involved making
posters, making connections to
how each rule applies away from school, and most importantly, how following these
expectations each day will help us become better learners. In the end,
we are now ready to "live" the rules and be great examples for the
younger grades to follow. As a final activity, we each posted the poem, My School Pledge
in our journals, signed a paper saying we will abide by the rules, and
made a "Welcome Booklet" explaining the rules. See the pictures below
for examples.
My School Pledge
I pledge today to do my best
in reading, math and all the rest.
in reading, math and all the rest.
I promise to obey the rules,
in my class and in our school.
in my class and in our school.
I'll respect myself and others too,
I'll expect the best in all I do.
I'll expect the best in all I do.
I am here to learn all I can,
To try my best and be all I am.
To try my best and be all I am.
